Esthetician Student Performs Facial Treatment on Client at Emily's Spa in Denver, CO

In our Esthetician program, you will learn how to analyze a client’s skin, discuss treatments, apply makeup, and recommend skincare products. Plus, you’ll learn advanced methods that many other skincare programs don’t teach in their introductory courses, including microdermabrasion and chemical peels.

Plus, you’ll get the chance to practice and gain real-world experience working with clients on-site at Emily’s Spa

More Information About the Program

You will be provided (these items are non-returnable):

  • Textbook
  • Esthetician kit

Students must purchase:

  • Black scrubs OR white esthetician lab coat (available from Amazon, Walmart, Crazy Scrubs, etc).
  • Near the end of the program, be prepared to purchase supplies for the state board kit. The instructor will inform you of what supplies to purchase.
  • Students must wear:
    • Solid black scrubs, both tops and bottoms OR white esthetician lab coat over business casual attire.
    • ID visible at all times during class and school events
    • Mask that covers mouth and nose when performing procedures.
    • Shoes must be closed-toed to protect your feet from spills, dropped tools, or other potential hazards.
      • Select shoes that are comfortable and supportive, suitable for standing, walking, and moving during practical sessions.
  • Students cannot wear:
    • Low-cut shirts, sweatpants, short skirts/shorts (no shorter than 2 inches above the knee), open-toed shoes, sagging pants, torn jeans or clothing with holes, profanity or offensive wording; tops with midriff exposed or sunglasses indoors.
    • Croc slippers, house slippers, or any type of slipper are not allowed.
    • Shoes that do not provide adequate support or safety, such as flip-flops, sandals, or open-back shoes
  • Hair and nails must be kept clean and groomed at all times.
  • Excessive odors from smoke, perfume, or other sources will not be tolerated.

This program has a strict attendance policy that will be reviewed at orientation. 

  • Missed hours cannot be made up. Students who exceed the attendance limit will need to re-enroll in a future cohort.
  • Enrollment in future cohorts is dependent on pending space and availability.

Program Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older

By applying to this program, you understand the Academic Preparedness and Physical Requirements below.

  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
  • Stamina to manage daily reading (20-30 pages per day), workbook assignments, and related exams that occur several times per week.
  • Be able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Make repetitive movements with precision and accuracy. 
  • Use hands to manipulate, control, feel objects, tools, and/or controls.
  • See details of objects less than a few feet away. 
  • Enunciate spoken words clearly so that listeners can understand.
  • Communicate effectively with instructor(s), classmates, and clients.
  • Be able to maintain the strain of supporting the body from standing, bending, twisting, reaching and sitting. 
  • Visually differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness. 
  • Lift, push or pull heavy objects. 
  • Be physically active for extended periods of time without fatigue (up to 8 hours).  
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, parts, or controls to maintain a level of safety around sharp objects, chemicals, and heating elements, like steamers. 
  • Ability to handle sometimes stressful, and busy environments.
  • Must be 16 years of age to take the licensure exam upon completion of this program.

  • Students are not allowed to work during scheduled class hours. 
  • Students cannot be on any acne medication, including Accutane, tetracyclin, or macrolide, during the program due to the contraindications of the prescription and hands-on learning. 
  • Students cannot be on Retin A during our program due to the contraindications of the prescription and hands-on learning. 
  • Due to the contraindications and interference of hands-on learning, do not schedule any cosmetic surgery procedures during the program. 
  • Due to the contraindications and interference of hands-on learning, do not schedule any permanent makeup procedures during the program. 
  • Do not plan vacations or elective surgery during the program as this program has specific hours requirements for program completion.
