FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS

From the first day Emily Griffith Technical College opened its doors more than 100 years ago, the college has committed to providing a real-world education for real budgets.

Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify, apply anyway. Most of our students receive some sort of grant, scholarship or benefit from programs paid for by the government.

With the support of financial aid and scholarships, we are proud to say 100% of our students graduate with NO student loan debt!

We do not offer Federal Direct Loans.

Today, scholarships and financial aid are an important part of our educational access. Here’s a snapshot of how tuition and financial aid breakdown at Emily Griffith:

Average Program Tuition: $6,700

Average Financial Aid Award: $5,090

Average Out-of-Pocket Cost: $1,610

WHERE DO I START?

1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. This is your gateway to most types of financial aid including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Colorado Student Grant, Career and Technical Education Grant, and Colorado Work-Study. In order to qualify you must:

  • Apply to Emily Griffith Technical College and be accepted in a Qualified Federal Financial Aid Program.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every academic year. The Emily Griffith Technical College Federal School Code is 005596.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Meet Emily Griffith Technical College Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy requirements.
  • Not be in default with any federal student loan programs.
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED® or completed homeschooling.

2. Review your Student Aid Report (SAR). After submitting the FAFSA, you will receive your SAR by email link. It will summarize your FAFSA information and provide insight into your financial aid eligibility. Correct anything that’s wrong with your FAFSA.

3. Verify your information. According to the Department of Education, before offering Federal Student Aid, we may ask you to confirm the information you reported on your FAFSA. To verify that you provided the correct information, we will compare your FAFSA with the information on the verification forms and with any other required documents. If there are differences, your FAFSA information will be corrected.

4. Review your aid offer from Emily Griffith. (Keep in mind, your financial aid file will not be completed until you have been accepted into a qualified federal financial aid program and you are eligible to register.)

SCHOLARSHIPS

Emily Griffith offers additional financial aid in the form of scholarships. Unlike student loans, scholarships don’t need to be paid back! However, scholarships may be adjusted if there are changes to your enrollment.
