I have taught online, taught people best practices of teaching online, and taken online courses for over fifteen years. I am currently directing a company - TG McMahon Technology Consulting working in the area of badging, experieental credit and competency based learning. I am also exploring the application of programs for education using mobile devices and SaaS. I previously worked at Academic Technology and Support for a Masters of Science degree program at the UC Denver Business School, offering an MS in Global Energy Management. I have experience in server administration, web-based LMS administration (Blackboard, WebCT, Sakai, Brigthspace (by D2L), Moodle, Drupal, Wordpress, WizIQ, Udemy, and Pearson Learning) desktop computer support, software development and support, network design and implementation, help desk organizing and maintenance, instructor training and support, and student support to improve their navigation and interactivity when taking online classes. My goal is to simply move beyond these experiences, and get closer to teaching, learning and working, online. I am intrigued and involved in unified learning and collaboration using computers and mobile communication devices that are based on and operate from, cloud computing resources.
Online teaching and learning, web-based learning management system support and operation, help desk organization and maintenance, lecture recording and presentation preparation for display on mobile devices. All aspects of user support, faculty support, and student support for hybrid and online teaching and learning.
Out of Office Experiences
I keep a colony of bees, like gardening, welding, designing and building weird forms of lawn ornaments from junk, teaching and continuous learning. Current projects at EGTC are to create online communities for the various divisions at the college, where resources and recorded processes can be shared.
